Headliner Removal/Installation: Notes

WARNING:
- Handling the air bag module improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. - Perform the headliner preparation. (See HEADLINER PREPARATION .)
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Front map light (See FRONT MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Sunvisor (See SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Assist handle (See ASSIST HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front seat belt lower anchor (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- B-pillar upper trim (See B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear package tray (See REAR PACKAGE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Trunk side upper trim (See TRUNK SIDE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- C-pillar trim (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

- Rear vent duct No. 2 (with rear vent duct) (See REAR VENT DUCT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear vent duct No. 1 (with rear vent duct) (See REAR VENT DUCT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear console bracket No. 1 (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the selector lever nuts and set the selector lever aside to the front passenger-side to rotate the headliner in the vehicle. (ATX) (See SELECTOR LEVER COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the bolts.
- Disconnect rear washer hose D.
- Pull the rear washer hose D in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and pull them out.
- Disconnect rear washer hose D from the joint pipe D.
- Move the headliner in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the surface fasteners from the sunroof unit. (with sunroof system)CAUTION:
- When removing the clips from the headliner, the headliner could be damaged if the clips are removed without sliding the headliner.
- When removing the clips from the headliner, slide the headliner to remove the clips.
- Slide the headliner in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove the clips from the headliner.
- Take the headliner out from the opened passenger-side door.
- Remove the clips from the roof panel.
- Install the clip removed in Step 13 to the headliner.
- Install in the reverse order of removal. (See HEADLINER INSTALLATION NOTE .)
NOTE:
- When replacing the headliner, remove the rear washer hose D. (See REAR WASHER HOSE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- When replacing the headliner, remove the vanity mirror illumination. (See VANITY MIRROR ILLUMINATION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
