Dashboard/Steering Hanger Beam Disassembly/Reassembly
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard, the body or the related parts.
- Take care not to bend the brackets.
- Remove the dashboard/steering hanger beam (see DASHBOARD/STEERING HANGER BEAM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Remove these items from the dashboard:
- Driver's dashboard lower cover (see DRIVER'S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Center lower trim (see CENTER LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Instrument panel (see INSTRUMENT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Gauge control module (see GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT )
- Front passenger's airbag (see FRONT PASSENGER'S AIRBAG REPLACEMENT )
- Center pocket (see CENTER POCKET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Audio unit (with audio) (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Audio-navigation unit (with audio-navigation) (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- GPS antenna (with audio-navigation) (see HFL-NAVIGATION MICROPHONE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Tweeter grilles, both sides (for some models) (see TWEETER )
- Sunlight sensor (see OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT )
- From the front of the dashboard (A), remove the bolts.
- From the back of the dashboard (A), detach the harness clips (B) and remove the screws, then separate the dashboard from the steering hanger beam (C).
- Remove the screws, then remove the dashboard duct (A) from the dashboard (B).
- Assemble the dashboard and the steering hanger beam in the reverse order of disassembly, and make sure the dashboard wire harness is not pinched.
