Test 13A - Odometer No Bus Message

NOTE: For connector terminal identification see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Using an external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and backprobe of DLC terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet wire). Turn ignition on. Open all doors and turn on A/C. If voltage is more than 8 volts, go to TEST 11A  . If voltage is less than .5 volt, go to step 3). If voltage is .5-8 volts, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect both battery cables. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and DLC terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet wire). If resistance is more than 2000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 320 ohms, go to TEST 12A  . If resistance is 320-2000 ohms and odometer displays NO BUS, go to TEST 13C  . If resistance is 320-2000 ohms and odometer does not display NO BUS, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect both battery cables. Disconnect BCM Gray 14-pin and Bone 12-pin connectors. Disconnect Overhead Travel Information System (OTIS) module headliner connector at junction block. See Fig 1 . Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and OTIS module headliner connector terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Violet wire). If resistance is 9-11 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 9-11 k/ohms, go to TEST 13B  .

  4. Measure resistance between ground and BCM Gray 14-pin connector terminal No. 14 (Yellow/Violet wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair open Yellow/Violet wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  5. Measure resistance between ground and BCM Bone 12-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet wire). If resistance is 900-1100 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 900-1100 ohms, go to TEST 13B  .
  6. Measure resistance between ground and BCM Bone 12-pin connector terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet wire). If resistance is 9-11 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 9-11 k/ohms, go to TEST 13B  .
  7. Measure resistance between ground and BCM Bone 12-pin connector terminal No. 7 (Yellow/Violet wire). If resistance is 9-11 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 9-11 k/ohms, go to TEST 13B  .
  8. Measure resistance between ground and BCM Gray 14-pin connector terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Violet wire). If resistance is 9-11 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 9-11 k/ohms, go to TEST 13B  .
  9. Measure resistance between ground and BCM Gray 14-pin connector terminal No. 5 (Yellow/Violet wire). If resistance is 9-11 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 9-11 k/ohms, go to TEST 13B  .
  10. Measure resistance between ground and BCM Gray 14-pin connector terminal No. 7 (Yellow/Violet wire). If resistance is 9-11 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 9-11 k/ohms, go to TEST 13B  .
  11. Measure resistance between ground and BCM Gray 14-pin connector terminal No. 12 (Yellow/Violet wire). If resistance is 9-11 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 9-11 k/ohms, go to TEST 13B  .
  12. Measure resistance between ground and BCM Gray 14-pin connector terminal No. 13 (Yellow/Violet wire). If resistance is 9-11 k/ohms, go to TEST 13C. If resistance is not 9-11 k/ohms, go to TEST 13B  .
