Test 13C - Odometer No Bus Message

NOTE: For connector terminal identification see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect Overhead Travel Information System (OTIS) module, if equipped. OTIS module is mounted to headliner. Cycle ignition off, then on. If scan tool does not display NO BUS, replace OTIS module. If scan tool displays NO BUS, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Transmission Control Module (TCM), if equipped. TCM is located at left fenderwell, next to power distribution center in engine compartment. Cycle ignition off, then on. If scan tool does not display NO BUS, replace TCM module. If scan tool displays NO BUS, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off and disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). PCM is located next to air cleaner. Cycle ignition off, then on. If scan tool does not display NO BUS, replace PCM module. If scan tool displays NO BUS, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect anti-lock brake controller module. Anti-lock brake controller module is mounted on left inner fender panel. Cycle ignition off, then on. If scan tool does not display NO BUS, replace anti-lock brake controller module. If scan tool displays NO BUS, go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) head. Cycle ignition off, then on. If scan tool does not display NO BUS, replace ATC head. If scan tool displays NO BUS, go to next step.
  6. Turn ignition off and wait 5 minutes. Disconnect Air Bag Control Module (ACM) 23-pin connector. ACM is located under center console. Cycle ignition off, then on. If scan tool does not display NO BUS, replace ACM module. If scan tool displays NO BUS, go to next step.
  7. Connect jumper wire between BCM Gray 14-pin connector terminals No. 13 and No. 14. Using scan tool, select MIC CLUSTER. If scan tool does not display NO BUS, replace BCM. If scan tool displays NO BUS, go to next step.
  8. Turn ignition off. Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance of Yellow/Violet wire between Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) Green connector terminal No. 5 and DLC terminal No. 2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace MIC. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  9. Disconnect BCM from junction block. Measure resistance between ground and junction block 20-pin internal connector terminal No. 10 (Yellow/Violet wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 315 ohms, replace junction block. If resistance is 315 ohms or more, replace BCM.
