Center Airbag Sensor Assembly: Removal

CAUTION: Be sure to read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing it (see PRECAUTION  ).
  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (Manual Transaxle) (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUBASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the airbag sensor connectors.
    2. Remove the 3 bolts and airbag sensor.
