Sunroof Unit Removal/Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the sunroof seaming welt.

  3. Remove the following parts:
    1. A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Sunvisor (See SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Front map light (See MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Assist handle (See ASSIST HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Front side trim (RH) (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Rear scuff plate (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    9. Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    10. Passenger-side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    11. B-pillar lower trim (See B-PILLAR LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    12. Adjust anchor cover (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    13. Upper anchor installation bolt on the seat belt (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    14. B-pillar upper trim (See B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    15. Rear seat cushion (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    16. Rear seat side back (See REAR SEAT SIDE BACK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    17. Tire house trim (See TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    18. C-pillar trim (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    19. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    20. Selector lever knob (ATX) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    21. Shift lever knob (MTX) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R] .)
    22. Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    23. Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    24. Rear console component (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    25. Headliner (See HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Disconnect the front drain hose and rear drain hose from the sunroof frame in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure below.

  5. Remove nuts A shown in the figure below.

  6. Remove bolts B shown in the figure.
  7. Remove nuts C shown in the figure.
    CAUTION:
    • Removing nuts C without supporting it could cause the sunroof unit to fall and cause serious injury. Always perform the procedure with at least another person to prevent the sunroof unit from falling.
  8. Remove the sunroof unit.
  9. Take the sunroof unit off from the front driver-side door or front passenger-side door opening.
  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.
