Air Conditioning: Condenser: Removal

  1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
    NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  6. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING LH  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  10. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and extension pad.

  11. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  12. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 clips.
    2. Partially remove the fender liner.

      HINT:

      It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner.

      Partially remove it so that the bumper assembly can be removed later.

  13. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  14. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER 
    1. Put protective tape around the front bumper.
    2. Remove the bolt and 8 screws.

    3. Detach the clip and remove the bumper seal bracket.

      HINT:

      Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

    4. Detach the 5 claws and disconnect the front bumper as shown in the illustration.

      HINT:

      Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

    5. Disconnect the 2 fog light connectors and remove the front bumper.
    6. w/ Intuitive Parking Assist system:

      Disconnect the No. 4 engine room main wire connector and remove the front bumper.

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER  (See REPLACEMENT )
  16. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  17. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  18. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  (See REMOVAL )
  19. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  20. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  21. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 
    1. Remove the 2 clips and duct seal.
  22. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  23. REMOVE ECM OUTLET DUCT (See  REMOVAL   ) 
  24. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the 3 bolts and sensor.

  25. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER 
    1. Detach the claw, and remove the 3 screws and cover.

  26. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY  (See HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY )
  27. REMOVE RADIATOR UPPER SUPPORT 
    1. Disconnect the 3 connectors and detach the 2 clamps.

    2. Detach the 5 clamps and disconnect the wire harness.

    3. Remove the 5 bolts and upper support.

  28. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  29. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the cooler condenser.
      NOTE:
      • When loosening the bolt, do not allow any tools to contact the pipe.
      • When loosening the bolt, hold a part of the pipe near the connector.
    2. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant discharge hose.
      NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  30. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe from the cooler condenser.
      NOTE:
      • When loosening the bolt, do not allow any tools to contact the pipe.
      • When loosening the bolt, hold a part of the pipe near the connector.
    2. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe.
      NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  31. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and cooler condenser.

  32. REMOVE COOLER DRYER 
    1. Using a 14 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the cap from the modulator.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the cap.

    3. Using pliers, remove the cooler dryer.
