Removal & Installation

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove driver front wheel. Pull push-in retainers to emove bumper fascia extension. Remove connector position assurance (2) from Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) harness connector (1). Ensure ignition switch is in OFF position. Rotate EBCM harness connector tab to unlocked position and disconnect EBCM harness connector (1). See Fig 1.
  2. Disconnect Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) connector (2) from EBCM (3). See Fig 2.
  3. Remove 6 screws attaching EBCM to BPMV and separate EBCM from BRMV. See Fig 3. Clean EBCM/BPMV.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten EBCM to BPMV screws to 28 INCH Lbs. (3 N.m).
  5. If EBCM has been replaced, EBCM must be programmed. Refer to Techline Terminal/Equipment user instructions. Perform bleeding procedure. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM in DISC article in BRAKES. Perform ANTI-LOCK BRAKE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
