Installation Procedure
Front Seat Belt Retractor (1) - Install
- Connect the electrical connector.
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Front Seat Belt Retractor Bolt - Lower (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Front Seat Belt Retractor Bolt - Middle (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Connect the electrical connector.
Front Seat Belt Retractor Bolt - Upper (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Front Seat Belt Retractor D Ring Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- NOTE:
When replacing the center pillar upper trim panel, feed the seat belt through the panel.
Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel (2) - Install
- Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Close the center pillar upper trim panel bolt cap.
Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel (1) - Install
If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps:
- Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
- Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
- Remove loose debris from internal and external threads using compressed air.
- Apply liquid thread locking adhesive in a strip along half of the length of the external threads, starting at the tip, just prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Front Seat Belt Anchor Plate Tensioner Bolt - Upper (1) - Install NEW and tighten - Fastener Specifications
Front Seat Belt Anchor Plate Tensioner Cover (1) - Install
Rear Side Door Sill Garnish Molding (1) - Install
Inspect each high retention retainer and sheet metal interface for flushness. Replace retainer as required if damage occurs during removal.
- When installing new plastic retainers on the front of the seat, ONLY seat the retainer to the first click, otherwise the insertion force into the sheet metal will be greatly increased.
- Rear Seat Cushion (1) - Install
Front Side Door Sill Garnish Molding (2) - Install
- Front Side Door Sill Trim Plate Clip (1) - Install
- Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
