Checking the control module

• Ignition off
• The breakout box connected
• Connect the control module.
• Transmission connector C disconnected
• Ignition on
• Gear selector in position P.

  Check the transmission control module (TCM) by measuring the resistance between terminals #A48 (#A48) and #A53 (#A53) on the breakout box. The resistance must be approximately 9 kΩ.

  NOTE:

  When removing the transmission connector, the control module may store diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for the gear-shift position sensor, the shift solenoids and the temperature sensor.

  Try a new control module if the resistance is infinite.

Was the resistance OK? 

• YES 

  FAULT NOT FOUND:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO
