Fuel Pump: Removal
- Drain fuel tank. See DRAINING FUEL TANK .
- Move front seats as far forward as possible. Fold rear seat forward. Pull carpet forward. Remove screws from fuel pump cover and remove cover. See Fig 1.CAUTION: Reinstall cap nut into fuel tank immediately after removing fuel pump. Otherwise threads may distort and cause problems when reinstalling.
- Mark each fuel line before disconnecting. Disconnect connector (marked A) and release fuel lines by pressing in on catches. Wipe up all spilled fuel immediately. Use Cap Nut Wrench (999-5622) or equivalent wrench to remove fuel pump cap nut. See Fig 2.
- Check fuel pump gasket and replace if torn or visibly distorted.
