Draining Fuel Tank

  1. Remove engine cover and cover from nipple on fuel rail. Connect fitting 999-5484 (Fuel Draining Tool) or equivalent and lock closed. Connect hose and fuel container to fitting. See Fig 1.
  2. Remove system relay from engine compartment. See Figure and Fig 1 . Bridge terminals 30 and 87 (C) on relay base using a wire.
  3. Turn ignition ON to activate fuel pump. Capacity is approximately 0.5 gallons per minute (2 liters per minute). DO NOT run fuel pump with tank empty. Watch fuel gauge carefully. Turn ignition OFF and disconnect fuel draining equipment when tank is empty.
