Removal & Installation

  1. Remove air cleaner housing intake pipe from connection above radiator and twist upward. Remove canister purge valve from fan shroud. Remove cable from clamp.
  2. Remove air pipe at control module box. Disconnect hose clamp and charge air pipe (if applicable) on right side. Use a hot air gun if necessary.
  3. Remove MAP sensor from mount in front cover plate. Remove tie straps holding wiring on upper fan shroud and remove wiring.
  4. Lift out hose for expansion tank. Disconnect both cooling fan connectors.
  5. Remove upper oil cooler hose at cooling unit and move aside. Seal opening to avoid fluid spills.
  6. Remove screws holding fan shroud and carefully lift cooling fan up and out.
  7. Place cooling fan on a flat surface with pulley facing down. Remove cable and connector from holder on shroud.
  8. Remove screws holding control module and blower motor. Lift shroud off and remove control module. See Fig 1.
  9. Install in reverse order.
