Network 

To increase driving safety and minimize the number of cables and connectors the X70 has networked communication between the modules for engine control, automatic transmission control, ABS, combined instrument panel control, and electronic throttle control.

The communication between the different components occurs according to a predetermined communication protocol, (VOLCANO).
