Front Side Upper Tie Bar Removal And Installation/Replacement

Mobile Repair Possible:  No

Removal Procedure: 

1. Remove front trunk. Refer to FRONT TRUNK REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

2. Unclip the harness (1) at the marked area, from the bracket.
3. Remove 2 bolts (2).

   Torque: 15.3 Nm 

4. Remove 3 bolts (3).

   Torque: 15.3 Nm

5. Remove the left-hand upper tie bar (1) upwards.

6. For the right side, the coolant expansion tank (1) must be removed. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM EXPANSION TANK REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

7. Unclip the harness at the marked area (1).

8. Remove 2 bolts (1).

   Torque: 15.3 Nm 

9. Remove 3 bolts (2).

   Torque: 15.3 Nm

   Removal note: For better illustration the removal for the upper tie bar is shown with the harness removed. 

10. Remove the right-hand upper tie bar (1) upwards.

Installation Procedure: 

1. Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following.

   All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification! 

2. Install cooling system expansion tank. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM EXPANSION TANK REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
3. Install front trunk. Refer to FRONT TRUNK REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
