Front Bumper Impact Bar Removal And Installation/Replacement

Mobile Repair Possible:  No

Removal Procedure: 

1. Remove both front wheelhouse liners. Refer to FRONT WHEELHOUSE LINER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
2. Remove both front bumper side energy absorbers. Refer to FRONT BUMPER SIDE ENERGY ABSORBERS REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT 
3. Remove both front crash support brackets. Refer to FRONT CRASH SUPPORT BRACKET REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
4. Remove both Headlamps. Refer to HEADLAMP REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
5. Remove coolant expansion tank. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM EXPANSION TANK REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

6. Remove 10 bolts (1).

   Torque: 15.3 Nm

7. Remove 2 bolts (1).

   Torque: 15 Nm

8. Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector (1).
9. Remove 2 bolts (2).

   Torque: 74.5 Nm

10. Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector (1).
11. Remove 2 bolts (2).

    Torque: 74.5 Nm

12. Remove 2 bolts (1).

    Torque: 2.6 Nm

13. Remove the front bumper (1) from the vehicle in the direction of the arrow.

Replacement Procedure:

1. Rebuild front bumper fascia energy absorber (1). Refer to FRONT BUMPER FASCIA ENERGY ABSORBER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT 
2. Rebuild front bumper fascia Z-support (2). Refer to FRONT BUMPER FASCIA Z-SUPPORT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
3. Rebuild FEM side upright (3). Refer to FEM SIDE UPRIGHT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
4. Remove 2 bolts (4).

   Torque: 8 Nm 

5. Rebuild signal horns (5)

Installation Procedure: 

1. Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following.

   All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification! 

2. Install coolant expansion tank. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM EXPANSION TANK REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
3. Install both Headlamps. Refer to HEADLAMP REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
4. Install front end latch support bracket. Refer to FRONT END LATCH SUPPORT BRACKET REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT 
5. Remove both front bumper side energy absorbers. Refer to FRONT BUMPER SIDE ENERGY ABSORBERS REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT 
6. Install left front wheelhouse liner. Refer to FRONT WHEELHOUSE LINER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
