Technical Description: Power Sunroof - Network Communication 

• Vehicle user can control the opening and closing by the Multimedia Head Unit e.g., using the MDU touchscreen or voice control.
• Multimedia Head Unit sends user request via Infotainment CAN Bus to Gateway Module - XGW
• Multimedia Head Unit sends user request via Infotainment CAN Bus to Gateway Module - XGW
• Both electrical motors are controlled by the BCM via LIN bus

Technical Description: Power Sunroof - Functions 

The sunroof has the following functions:

• Opening/closing by means of Multimedia system
• Opening/closing by means of comfort opening/comfort closing
• Automatic closing by the Rain Light Sensor - RLS
• Anti-pinch protection
• Blocking protection
• Thermal protection
• Recalibration process
• Uses CAN interface
• Bootloader
• FOTA & Diagnostic functions.
• Sunroof and sunshade have separate motors and can be independently controlled by
  • Sunroof blind motor - SGBM
  • Sunroof glass motor - SRGM
• Integrated control units detects the moving position of sunroof/sunblind.
• Sunroof glass panel has two main action modes: tilt action and slide action.
• Sunroof/sunblind operation status is monitored by the BCM
  • Safe control of the motor
  • Protecting motor and sunroof in operation mode
  • Detect and remember sunroof location
  • LIN-bus is set to control operation mode or enter sleep mode and wake up
• If the motor is running for a long time, overheating protection is activated

Operation: 

Opening/Closing the Sunroof 

1. Select the plan view of the vehicle in the touch display and, having selected the tracking view, press the tracking view to activate the sunroof button.
2. Press the sunroof button.

3. Press the "Open all" button to fully open the sunroof and the sunshade.
4. Press the "Close all" button to completely close the sunroof and the sunshade.
5. Press the "Vent" button to slightly open the sunroof and the sunshade.
6. Use the "Glass" slider to individually position the sunroof; the sunshade automatically opens until the selected position is reached.
7. Use the "Shade" slider to individually position the sunshade; the sunshade cannot be closed further than the sunroof.
8. Press "X" or outside of the window to close the sunroof and sunshade settings, otherwise the window will automatically close after 6 seconds.
