Inspection Procedure

NOTE: The power window control system uses a multiplex communication system (LIN communication system). Inspect the communication function by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ). Troubleshoot the power window control system after confirming that the communication system is functioning properly.
  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - EACH ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the D48 and P4 ECU connectors.

    2. Disconnect the H4, J2 and K2 motor connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D48-10 (LIN2) - I6-17 (LIN1) Always Below 1 Ω
      D48-10 (LIN2) - H4-9 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      D48-10 (LIN2) - K2-9 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      D48-10 (LIN2) - J2-9 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      D48-10 (LIN2) - P4-4 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      D48-10 (LIN2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Standard Voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D48-10 (LIN2) - Body ground Always Below 1 V

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the multiplex network master switch assembly (See REMOVAL  ).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      16 (LIN2) - 17 (LIN1) Always Below 1 Ω

      NG: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK REMOTE UP / DOWN FUNCTION 
    1. Check that the manual up/down function using power window regulator switch assembly can operate the front passenger side, rear LH side rear RH side power windows.

      OK: Manual up/down function is normal  .

      Result

      B: GO TO OTHER PROBLEM (Proceed to FRONT PASSENGER SIDE POWER WINDOW DOES NOT OPERATE WITH FRONT PASSENGER SIDE POWER WINDOW SWITCH )

      C: GO TO OTHER PROBLEM (Proceed to REAR POWER WINDOW LH DOES NOT OPERATE REAR POWER WINDOW SWITCH LH )

      D: GO TO OTHER PROBLEM (Proceed with REAR POWER WINDOW RH DOES NOT OPERATE WITH REAR POWER WINDOW SWITCH RH )

      A: Go to Next Step 

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (Master Switch) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Master Switch / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      D: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Rear RH Side)  (See REMOVAL  )

      A: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )
