Lower Instrument Panel: Installation

  1. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL 
    1. Connect the connectors, attach the clamps and install the lower instrument panel.

    2. w/ Smart Key System:

      Connect the connector.

    3. for Automatic Air Conditioning System:

      Install the cooler thermistor hose and connect the connector.

    4. Attach the claws to install the DLC3.
    5. Install the 4 bolts, 2 screws and 2 clips.
  2. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 3 claws to install the hood lock control lever.

  3. INSTALL POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the ECU with the 3 nuts.
    2. Connect the connectors.
    NOTE: Be sure to engage the lock of the connector as shown in the illustration.

  4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX 
    1. Attach the 6 clips to install the instrument panel box.
    2. Install the screw.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE 
    1. Connect the connectors.
    2. Attach the 4 clips to install the switch hole base.

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 3 claws to install the instrument panel under cover.

  7. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL 
    1. Attach the 8 claws to install the lower instrument panel finish panel.
    2. Install the 2 screws.
  8. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH  (See FUEL LID LOCK CONTROL )

  9. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH  (See FUEL LID LOCK CONTROL )
  10. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE INSIDE RH  (See FUEL LID LOCK CONTROL )
  11. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE INSIDE LH  (See FUEL LID LOCK CONTROL )
  12. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the rear console box with the 2 bolts and attach the wire harness clamp.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  13. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET 
    1. Install the console box carpet.

  14. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET COVER INNER LH 
    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the instrument panel bracket cover.

  15. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET COVER INNER RH 
    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the instrument panel bracket cover.

  16. INSTALL CONSOLE REAR END PANEL 
    1. Attach the 6 claws to install the console rear end panel.

    2. for AC Power Supply:
      1. Connect the connectors and attach the wire harness clamp.

      2. Attach the 2 clips and 4 claws to install the console rear end panel.

  17. INSTALL UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connectors.
    2. Attach the 4 clips to install the upper rear console panel.

  18. INSTALL CONSOLE CUP HOLDER BOX 
    1. Attach the 2 clips to install the cup holder box.
    2. Install the 2 screws.

  19. INSTALL SWITCH BASE 
    1. Connect the connectors.
    2. Attach the 2 clips and 2 claws to install the switch base.

  20. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Attach the 2 clips and 4 claws to install the floor shift position indicator housing.

  21. INSTALL NO. 2 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Attach the 4 clips to install the upper panel garnish.

  22. INSTALL NO. 1 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Attach the 4 clips to install the upper panel garnish.

  23. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Twist the shift lever knob in the direction indicated by the arrow to install it.

  24. INSTALL HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)  (See INSTALLATION )
  25. INSTALL HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Air Conditioning System)  (See AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER )
  26. INSTALL COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  27. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  28. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  29. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the upper instrument panel (See INSTALLATION ).
  30. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  31. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
