How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage: 11 to 14 V 

    If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

  3. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs and make a note of any codes that are output.
    2. Clear the DTCs.
    3. Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTCs output in the first step, try to force output of the same DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.

      Result

      No DTCs output A
      DTCs output B
      CAN communication system DTCs are output C
      LIN communication system DTCs are output D

    B: GO TO DIAGNOSIS TROUBLE CODE CHART  (See DIAGNOSIS TROUBLE CODE CHART  )

    C: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    D: GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    A: Go to next step 

  4. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to the Problem Symptoms Table (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Fault not listed in Problem Symptoms Table A
      Fault listed in Problem Symptoms Table B

    B: GO TO STEP  6

    A: Go to next step 

  5. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING* 
    1. Operation Check (See OPERATION CHECK  ).
    2. Terminals of ECU (See TERMINALS OF ECU  ).
    3. Data List/Active Test (See DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST  ).
  6. REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT 

    Result

    Result Proceed to
    Door window regulator and power window regulator motor assembly is replaced or removed/installed. A
    Door window regulator and power window regulator motor assembly is not replaced or removed/installed. B

    B: GO TO STEP  8

    A: Go to next step 

  7. RESET POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR 
    1. If the power window regulator master switch AUTO light is blinking, reset the power window regulator motor (See INITIALIZATION  ).
  8. CONFIRMATION TEST
