Instrument Panel: Removal
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL PAD AND STEERING WHEEL (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE
- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM
- REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE
- REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL
- Remove the 3 screws and disconnect the connector.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the lower instrument panel finish panel.
NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. - REMOVE LOWER PANEL INSERT Remove the 4 bolts and lower panel insert.
- REMOVE COLUMN COVERS (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH AND LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH AND HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
Using a screwdriver, remove the cluster finish panel.
NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. - REMOVE COMBINATION METER
- Push out the connector by loosening the bolt.NOTE: Operation is completed when the bolt failed to catch.
- Check that the red-colored indicator is pulled back behind.
- Remove the 4 screws.
- Push out the connector by loosening the bolt.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the instrument cluster finish panel.NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- w/o Radio:
Remove the 4 bolts and stereo opening cover.
- w/ Radio:
Remove the 4 bolts and radio then disconnect the connectors.
- REMOVE HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER FINISH CENTER PANEL

- Remove the 2 screws.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the instrument panel cluster finish center panel then disconnect the connector.NOTE:
- After removing the screws, if you remove the clip shown by an arrow mark with a resin spatula, the panel can be removed smoothly.
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL
- M/T only:
Remove the shift lever knob.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the upper console panel.
NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. - M/T only:
- REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX
Remove the 2 bolts, 2 screws and rear console box, then disconnect the connector.
- REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX
- Remove the 6 screws and front console box.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the front console box to indicated direction.
NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. - REMOVE NO. 1 AND NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVERS
- REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT BOX
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISHES
- Using a screwdriver, remove the front pillar garnish.
NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the front pillar garnish.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL
- Disconnect these connectors as shown in the illustration.
- Disengage the wire harness clamps as shown in the illustration.
- Remove the 4 screws, 2 nut, 8 bolt and instrument panel.
- REMOVE NO. 1 AND NO. 2 BRACES
Remove the 3 bolts, 3 nuts, No.1 and No.2 braces.
- REMOVE REINFORCEMENT
- Remove the brake pedal spring.
- Remove the 5 bolts, nut and reinforcement.
