Air Conditioning: Condenser: Removal

  1. Discharge Refrigerant From Refrigeration System 
    NOTE:
    1. Evacuate air from refrigeration system.
    2. Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.
      1. Specified amount: 650 +/- 50 g (22.92 +/- 1.76 oz.) 
  2. Remove Radiator Grill 
  3. Remove Horn 
  4. Remove Hood Lock 
  5. Remove Center Brace 
  6. Remove Receiver And Holder (See  REMOVAL  )

  7. Disconnect Liquid Tube And Discharge Hose 

    Remove the two bolts and disconnect both tube and hose.

    1. Torque: 10 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) 
    NOTE:
    1. Cap open the fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.
    2. Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install them to the tubes.
  8. Remove Condenser

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 lower brackets.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 upper brackets.
    3. Pull the condenser forward and pull it upward.
    NOTE: If condenser is replaced, add compressor oil to the compressor.
    1. Add 40 - 50 cc (1.4 - 1.7 fl.oz.) 
    2. Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
