DTC Confirmation Procedure

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position.
DTC P0826 TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "CVT System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to CVT SYSTEM CHECK .
Shift switch circuit check 
  1. Turn off ignition switch and connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC.
  2. Turn ignition switch to ON position.
  3. Check that following items are normal condition by using SUZUKI scan tool, when shifting select lever ("P", "R", "N", "D") to each range.
    • Shift Down SW
    • Shift Up SW
    • Manual Mode SW

Are they in good condition? 
Check for intermittent trouble. See DTC CHECK Go to Step 3.
Manual mode shift switch circuit check 
  1. Turn off ignition switch and disconnect connectors from select lever and TCM.
  2. If connections are OK, check that shift switch signal circuit (A1 - A3) are as follows.
    • Insulation resistance between each shift switch signal circuit and vehicle body ground is infinity.
    • Insulation resistance of wire harness is infinity between each shift switch signal circuit terminal and each terminal at select lever connector.

Are they in good condition? 
Repair or replace defective wire harness. Go to Step 4.
Manual mode shift switch check 
  1. Check manual model shift switch. See Manual Mode Shift Switch Inspection 

Is it in good condition? 
Substitute a known-good TCM and recheck. Replace manual mode shift switch. See Select Lever Assembly Removal and Installation .
