Fuel Rails & Injectors: Installation

  1. Install NEW grommets and "O" rings on injectors. Coat NEW "O" rings with thin coat of fuel. See Fig 1 . Install injectors on fuel rail. Ensure injectors rotate smoothly on fuel rail. If injectors do not rotate smoothly, check for binding "O" ring.
  2. Install insulators in cylinder head. Install fuel rail with injectors. Install and tighten fuel rail mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
  3. Check for fuel leaks. With fuel pump relay connected, install a jumper wire between fuel pump relay Pink/Black and Black/White wires. Fuel pump relay is located on left kick panel. See Figure . Turn ignition on (engine off) to activate fuel pump. Check for fuel leaks.
