Installation (Sidekick MPI & Swift DOHC)
- Install NEW grommets and "O" rings on injectors. Coat new "O" rings with thin coat of fuel. See Fig 1
. Install injectors on fuel rail. Ensure injectors rotate smoothly on fuel rail. If injectors do not rotate smoothly, check for binding "O" ring.
- Install insulators in cylinder head. Install fuel rail with injectors. Install and tighten fuel rail mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
table. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
- Check for fuel leaks. With fuel pump relay connected, install a jumper wire between fuel pump relay Pink and White/Blue wires (Swift SOHC) or Pink/Black and Black/White wires (Sidekick MPI). On Swift, fuel pump relay is located in main fuse box, near battery. See Figure
. On Sidekick, fuel pump relay is located on left kick panel. See Figure
. On all models, turn ignition on (engine off) to activate fuel pump. Check for fuel leaks.
