Front Wiper Motor and Link: Installation

Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
Check that the motor assembly windshield wiper is at the auto stop position.
CAUTION: During motor operation, do not touch the movable part.
1. Connect the harness of front wiper to the motor assembly windshield wiper.
2. Switch the combination switch (wiper) to ON/OFF one time.
Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor again. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .

Install the motor assembly windshield wiper.

Align the link plate position.

CAUTION: Install the wiper motor assembly at the position where the rod (b) and the link plate (a) are aligned in a straight line.

Install the motor assembly windshield wiper.
Tightening torque:

5.4 N.M (0.6 kgf-m, 4.0 ft-lb)

Install the link assembly windshield wiper.
Tightening torque:

6 N.M (0.6 kgf-m, 4.4 ft-lb)
Install the cowl panel assembly and the cowl panel side. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>COWL PANEL>INSTALLATION .
Install the arm assembly windshield wiper. Ref. to WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEMS>FRONT WIPER ARM>INSTALLATION .
Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
Operate the windshield wiper once to check that the stop position is aligned with the wiper set mark.
If it is not aligned with the wiper set mark, perform the removal and installation of the windshield wiper over again. Ref. to WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEMS>FRONT WIPER ARM>REMOVAL .
Make sure that the hose wiper arm washer and the cover joint do not interfere during windshield wiper operation.
