Front Wiper Arm: Installation

CAUTION: Install firmly so that the hose wiper arm washer is not bent, compressed or flattened.

NOTE: Since the wiper arm assembly on the left and right sides can interfere with each other, install the passenger's side first.

When the hose wiper arm washer is removed from the joint washer hose, refer to "INSTALLATION" of "Front Washer Nozzle & Hose". Ref. to WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEMS>FRONT WASHER NOZZLE AND HOSE>INSTALLATION .

Install the arm assembly windshield wiper.

Align the alignment marks (a), and install the hose wiper arm washer to the arm assembly windshield wiper assistor.

Assemble the arm assembly windshield wiper so that the blade assembly windshield wiper aligns with the wiper set mark on the windshield glass.

Tighten the arm assembly windshield wiper to the specified torque, and install the cover windshield wiper arm.
Tightening torque:

26 N.m (2.7kgf-m, 19.2ft-lb)
Connect the hose wiper arm washer to the joint washer hose, and install the cover joint.

Operate the windshield wiper once to check that the stop position is aligned with the wiper set mark.
If it is not aligned with the wiper set mark, perform the removal and installation of the windshield wiper over again. Ref. to WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEMS>FRONT WIPER ARM>REMOVAL .
Make sure that the hose wiper arm washer and the cover joint do not interfere during windshield wiper operation.
