Oil Pump: Removal

  1. Remove the converter case. Ref. to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION>CONVERTER CASE>REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the oil pump.

  3. Using a flat tip screwdriver wrapped with protection tape, expand the clearance and remove the oil pump.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the oil pump and transmission case.

  4. Remove the No. 1 thrust bearing race and the O-ring.

    (A) No. 1 thrust bearing race
    (B) O-ring
    (C) Oil pump
  5. Remove the seal rings.

    (A) Seal ring
    (B) Oil pump
  6. Using the ST, remove the oil seal.

    Preparation tool: 

    ST: PULLER ASSY (398527700)
