Engine Oil Pressure: Inspection

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    NOTE: For the hybrid model, disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Remove the oil pressure switch. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>OIL PRESSURE SWITCH> REMOVAL .
  3. Install the oil pressure gauge to the installation area for the oil pressure switch of the chain cover.

  4. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    NOTE: For the hybrid model, connect the battery negative terminal.
  5. Navigate to the service mode (for exhaust gas measurement). (Hybrid model) Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT>OPERATION>SERVICE MODE .
    NOTE: If it is necessary to run the engine for 10 minutes or more, fasten the driver's seat belt.
  6. Start the engine, and check the oil pressure.
    NOTE:

    Engine oil pressure: 

    2.0 L gasoline engine model (CVT model) 

    While idling (no load and select lever in "P" or "N" range) 

    Standard 

    56 kPa (0.6 kg/cm2 , 8 psi) or more

    At 3, 000 r/min 

    Standard 

    230 kPa (2.3 kg/cm2 , 33 psi) or more

    2.0 L gasoline engine model (MT model) 

    While idling (no load and gear shift lever in neutral position) 

    Standard 

    48 kPa (0.5 kg/cm2 , 7 psi) or more

    At 3, 000 r/min 

    Standard 

    230 kPa (2.3 kg/cm2 , 33 psi) or more

    2.5 L model 

    While idling (no load and select lever in "P" or "N" range) 

    Standard 

    47 kPa (0.5 kg/cm2 , 7 psi) or more

    At 3, 000 r/min 

    Standard 

    230 kPa (2.3 kg/cm2 , 33 psi) or more

    Hybrid model 

    At 2, 000 r/min 

    Standard 

    200 kPa (2.0 kg/cm2 , 29 psi) or more

  7. After inspection, install the related parts in the reverse order of removal.
