Engine Oil Pressure: Inspection
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY
.NOTE: For the hybrid model, disconnect the battery negative terminal.
- Remove the oil pressure switch. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>OIL PRESSURE SWITCH> REMOVAL .
- Install the oil pressure gauge to the installation area for the oil pressure switch of the chain cover.
- Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY
.NOTE: For the hybrid model, connect the battery negative terminal.
- Navigate to the service mode (for exhaust gas measurement). (Hybrid model) Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT>OPERATION>SERVICE MODE
.NOTE: If it is necessary to run the engine for 10 minutes or more, fasten the driver's seat belt.
- Start the engine, and check the oil pressure.NOTE:
- Standard value is based on an engine oil temperature of 80°C (176°F).
- If the oil pressure is out of the specification, check oil pump, oil filter and lubrication line. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>ENGINE LUBRICATION SYSTEM TROUBLE IN GENERAL>INSPECTION .
- If the oil pressure warning light is ON and oil pressure is within standard, check the oil pressure switch. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>ENGINE LUBRICATION SYSTEM TROUBLE IN GENERAL>INSPECTION .
