Interior Collation Does Not Function

CAUTION:
  1. CHECK ACCESS KEY  .

    Check the battery of the access key. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>ACCESS KEY>INSPECTION

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes  : Go to  2.

    No  : Replace the battery. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>ACCESS KEY>REMOVAL

  2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Disconnect the keyless access control module connector.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Using a tester, measure the voltage between the keyless access control module connector and chassis ground.

      Connector & terminal 

      (i91) No. 4 (+) - Chassis ground (-):

      (i91) No. 1 (+) - Chassis ground (-):

    Is the voltage 9.5 - 16 V?

    Yes  : Go to  3.

    No  : Check the power supply circuit.

  3. CHECK INTERIOR ANTENNA (FRONT)  .
    1. Connect the keyless access control module connector.
    2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start (Collation)]. Ref. to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT 
      • Fr internal transmitter - internal tuner
    3. Using a tester, check the output between keyless access control module connector terminals while performing [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check].

      Connector & terminal 

      (i92) No. 25 - (i92) No. 12:

    Is a pulse output?

    Yes  : Go to  4.

    No  : Replace the keyless access control module. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL MODULE>REMOVAL

  4. CHECK INTERIOR ANTENNA (CENTER)  .
    1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start (Collation)]. Ref. to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT 
      • Rr internal transmitter - internal tuner
    2. Using a tester, check the output between keyless access control module connector terminals while performing [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check].

      Connector & terminal 

      (i92) No. 9 - (i92) No. 3:

    Is a pulse output?

    Yes  : Go to  5.

    No  : Replace the keyless access control module. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL MODULE>REMOVAL

  5. CHECK INTERIOR ANTENNA (REAR)  .
    1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start (Collation)]. Ref. to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT 
      • R gate internal transmitter - internal tuner
    2. Using a tester, check the output between keyless access control module connector terminals while performing [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check].

      Connector & terminal 

      (i92) No. 2 - (i92) No. 1:

    Is a pulse output?

    Yes  : Go to  6.

    No  : Replace the keyless access control module. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL MODULE>REMOVAL

  6. CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT)  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Disconnect the connector from the keyless access control module.
    3. Disconnect the connector from the front interior antenna.
    4. Using a tester, measure the resistance between the front interior antenna connector and the keyless access control module connector.

      Connector & terminal 

      (i92) No. 25 - (C35) No. 1:

      (i92) No. 12 - (C35) No. 3:

    Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

    Yes  : Go to  7.

    No  : Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.

  7. CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT)  .
    1. Disconnect the connector from the center interior antenna.
    2. Using a tester, measure the resistance between the center interior antenna connector and the keyless access control module connector.

      Connector & terminal 

      (i92) No. 9 - (R114) No. 1:

      (i92) No. 3 - (R114) No. 3:

    Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

    Yes  : Go to  8.

    No  : Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.

  8. CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT)  .
    1. Disconnect the rear interior antenna connector.
    2. Using a tester, measure the resistance between the rear interior antenna connector and the keyless access control module connector.

      Connector & terminal 

      (i92) No. 2 - (R115) No. 1:

      (i92) No. 1 - (R115) No. 3:

    Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

    Yes  : Go to  9.

    No  : Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.

  9. CHECK ANTENNA  .
    1. Connect the keyless access control module connector.
    2. Replace the front interior antenna with a new or properly functioning part. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS INDOOR ANTENNA>REMOVAL

    Does it operate properly?

    Yes  : Replace the front interior antenna.

    No  : Go to  10.

  10. CHECK ANTENNA  .

    Replace the center interior antenna with a new or properly functioning part. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS INDOOR ANTENNA>REMOVAL

    Does it operate properly?

    Yes  : Replace the center interior antenna.

    No  : Go to  11.

  11. CHECK ANTENNA  .

    Replace the rear interior antenna with a new or properly functioning part. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS INDOOR ANTENNA>REMOVAL

    Does it operate properly?

    Yes  : Replace the rear interior antenna.

    No  : Go to  12.

  12. CHECK KEYLESS ACCESS SYSTEM CHECK  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start (Collation)]. Ref. to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT 
      • Fr internal transmitter - internal tuner
    3. Hold the access key 1 m or more away from the center console, then come closer to within 0.8 m.

    Does the buzzer sound?

    Yes  : Go to  13.

    No  : Replace the keyless access control module. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL MODULE>REMOVAL

  13. CHECK KEYLESS ACCESS SYSTEM CHECK  .
    1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start (Collation)]. Ref. to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT 
      • Rr internal transmitter - internal tuner
    2. Hold the access key 1 m or more away from the center of the second-row seats, then come closer to within 0.8 m.

    Does the buzzer sound?

    Yes  : Go to  14.

    No  : Replace the keyless access control module. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL MODULE>REMOVAL

  14. CHECK KEYLESS ACCESS SYSTEM CHECK  .
    1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start (Collation)]. Ref. to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT 
      • Trunk-internal transmitter - trunk-internal tuner
    2. Hold the access key 1 m or more away from the back of the rear seat, then come closer to within 0.8 m.

    Does the buzzer sound?

    Yes  : The circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

    NOTE:

    In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause. 

    No  : Replace the keyless access control module. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL MODULE>REMOVAL
