Body Integrated Unit: Removal

NOTE:
  • When replacing the body integrated unit, check the current setting and note it. < Ref. to CONFIRMATION OF CURRENT SETTING , OPERATION, Subaru Select Monitor. >
  • When replacing the body integrated unit, all immobilizer keys also must be replaced and registered again.
  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  2. Remove the instrument panel lower cover. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Instrument Panel Lower Cover. >
  3. Disconnect the connector of body integrated unit.
    CAUTION: Be careful to keep water and other foreign materials away from body integrated unit.
  4. Remove the body integrated unit from the body integrated unit mounting bracket using a flat tip screwdriver.
    CAUTION: Be careful when removing the unit. Removing by force from the bracket will damage the unit.
  5. Remove the clutch pedal stopper arm. (MT model) < Ref. to REMOVAL , Clutch Pedal. >
  6. Remove two mounting bolts for body integrated unit bracket, and remove the bracket.
