  Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

Do not pour transmission oil into beverage bottles.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Perform power disable of high-voltage on-board electrical system INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Perform initial startup of high-voltage on-board electrical system. AR54.10-P-1160SRE
2 Remove electric fan   AR20.40-P-5000SRE
3 Remove hose from air duct pipe (1)    
4 Expose wiring harnesses at air duct pipe (1)    
5 Remove air duct pipe (1) of electric fan TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, air duct pipe to transmission housing *BA26.00-P-1006-01E 
6 Seal opening for air duct pipe (1) on transmission (2) with suitable tape    
7 Detach wire (3) from transmission (2) and guide to one side Model 453.091/391/491 with engine 780.997

8 Disconnect electrical connector (5) at park pawl switch (4)    
9 Pull off vent line (10) at transmission (2)    
10 Attach engine hoist SPECIAL TOOL Support braces Fig 1

11 Release nut (6) at left engine mount (7) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, engine mount to engine support *BA22.10-P-1003-01H 
12 Unfasten the threaded pin of left engine support (14) from left engine mount (7) using a suitable plastic mallet    
13 Unscrew nut(6)    
14 Detach bracket (8) with power electronics coolant pump (9) from transmission (2)    
15 Take power electronics coolant pump (9) out of working area with electrical line and coolant lines still connected, and fix in place    
16 Detach bracket (11) of wiring harness from transmission (2)    
17 Remove crossmember of rear axle   AR35.15-P-0250SR
18 Remove both rear axle shafts   AR35.30-P-0620SRE
19 Remove carrier (12) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Electric fan carrier at transmission *BA26.00-P-1007-01E 
20 Detach ground strap (13) from left engine carrier (14) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, ground line to engine carrier *BA00.19-P-1002-02C 
21 Remove left engine support (14) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, engine support to transmission housing *BA22.10-P-1008-01H 
22 Unscrew nuts (16) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt/nut, transmission to engine *BA26.00-P-1002-01E 
23 Remove both stud bolts of nuts (16) and screw in drifts TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt/nut, transmission to engine *BA26.00-P-1002-01E

24 Remove screws/bolts (15) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt/nut, transmission to engine *BA26.00-P-1002-01E 
25 Remove transmission (2) from electric motor (17) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Place transmission (2) carefully on electric motor (17).
Otherwise the radial shaft sealing ring (18) can get damaged.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Check for pilot bushings (arrows) on electric motor (17).
 
26 Remove radial shaft sealing ring (18) from transmission (2) with suitable tool When reinstalling transmission (2).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace radial shaft sealing ring (18) with SPECIAL TOOL installation tool from drift set.
Do not grease sealing lip of new radial shaft sealing ring (18).

27 Remove park pawl switch (4) If the transmission (2) is replaced. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Install park pawl switch (4) with new sealing ring.  
28 Install in the reverse order
