Installation Procedure
- Clean the lower column shaft splines.
- Ensure the upper jacket shaft splines are clean and free of debris.
- Use the supplied grease to apply 2 grams (0.07 ounces) of grease to the column shaft splines.
- Ensure that the steering wheel alignment notch is in the 12 o'clock position.
- Install the jacket to the column housing and tighten the bolts to 11 N.m (97 lb in).
- Install the upper column attachment bolts and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the left closeout panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
- Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
- Install the ignition lock cylinder case. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Case Replacement .
- Install the multifunction turn signal switch housing. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Switch Housing Replacement
- Install the SIR coil. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Coil Replacement .
- Install the column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement .
- Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Road test the vehicle to verify steering operation.
