Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

  1. 2:  Determines whether the DTC is current or intermittent.
  1. 3:  Determines whether the driver or front passenger door lock switch is shorted to ground.

1 Did you perform the Door Systems Diagnostic System Check? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Door Systems 
  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off.
  3. With a scan tool, monitor the DTC Information for DTC B3270 in the Body Control Module.
Does the scan tool indicate that DTC B3270 is current?
Go to Step 3  Go to Diagnostic Aids
  1. Turn off the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the driver door lock switch.
  3. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off.
  4. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
  5. Operate the vehicle within normal operating conditions.
Does the DTC reset?
Go to Step 4  Go to Step 5 
4 Replace the front passenger door lock switch. Refer to Power Door Lock Switch Replacement (Aztek)  or Power Door Lock Switch Replacement (Rendezvous) .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 6  -
5 Replace the driver door lock switch. Refer to Power Door Lock Switch Replacement (Aztek)  or Power Door Lock Switch Replacement (Rendezvous) .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 6  -

  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC as specified in the supporting text.
Does the DTC reset?
Go to Step 2  System OK
