Remote Keyless Entry System: Testing: Symptoms

| No Remote Keyless Entry functions operate | If no remote keyless entry functions operate, check transmitter battery terminals. They should be clean and make good contact with battery. |
| " | If in doubt as to condition of transmitter batteries, replace with new ones. Checking battery voltage with DVOM may give false results. |

| Remote keyless luggage comp- artment release function does not operate properly | Do TEST B . |
| Remote keyless door lock/unlock function does not operate properly | Do TEST D . |
| Transmitter only operates at close range. | Replace transmitter batteries. Program a known-good transmitter. If RAC module responds, replace transmitter. If not, replace RAC module and go to TEST J: PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE . |
| RAC module cannot be programmed | With ignition off, measure voltage at ALDL connector terminal "G". Battery voltage should exist. If not, check YEL (1398) wire for open or short to ground. If okay, replace RAC module and see TEST J: PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE . |
