Test D: Cruise Control Main Switch Indicator Light Inoperative
NOTE:
Cruise control main switch is located in instrument panel to right of steering column. Indicator light is located in cruise control main switch button.
- Perform CRUISE CONTROL DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM then go to next step.
- Road test vehicle and operate cruise control system. If cruise control system operates normally, go to next step. If cruise control system does not operate normally, go to TEST A: CRUISE CONTROL INOPERATIVE/MALFUNCTIONING or TEST B: CRUISE CONTROL INOPERATIVE/MALFUNCTIONING (USING TESTER J42958) . .
- Replace cruise control main switch. See CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, go to next step.
- Road test vehicle and operate cruise control system to verify repair. If cruise control main switch indicator light operates normally, repair is complete. If cruise control main switch indicator light is still inoperative, return to step 2 .
