Trouble Shooting

- Verify customer complaint and check for immobilizer system Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM .
- If condition cannot be verified and no DTCs are present, problem is intermittent. If condition can be verified and no DTCs are present, or immobilizer system cannot communicate with scan tool, diagnose by symptom. See SYMPTOM CHART .
- If immobilizer system DTC is present, record DTC. Erase DTC and try to reproduce conditions which caused DTC to set. If same DTC sets again, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If same DTC does not set again, problem is intermittent.
