Test B: Set Speed Fluctuates

  1. Observe speedometer while test driving vehicle at a constant speed of 40-55 MPH. If speedometer does not display a constant speed, diagnose and repair speedometer as necessary. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article. If speedometer displays a constant speed, go to next step.
  2. Test speed control actuator. See SPEED CONTROL ACTUATOR  under COMPONENT TESTS. If speed control actuator is okay, replace speed control actuator module and retest system operation. If speed control actuator is not okay, replace speed control actuator and retest system operation.
