License Plate Light Removal/Installation

Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
Remove the following parts.
1. Liftgate upper trim (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2. Liftgate side trim (See LIFTGATE SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. Liftgate recess (See LIFTGATE RECESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4. Power liftgate (PLG) rear switch (with power liftgate system) (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) REAR SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
5. Liftgate lower trim (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Disconnect the connector.

CAUTION:
- When removing the license plate light from the liftgate, the license plate light could fall off and be damaged. When removing the license plate light from the liftgate, press the lens side of the license plate light with a hand.
While pressing the license plate light tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the license plate light in the direction of arrow (2), and detach the license plate light tabs from the liftgate.

Remove the license plate light.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
