Symptom and Conditions

Permanent DTC (PDTC) has been adopted since 2009MY Mazda6 with V6 engine according to OBD regulation. DTC is stored as PDTC when MIL illuminates.

Repair Procedure

PDTC is automatically eliminated when it meets certain conditions after a repair for the DTC was completed. It is not necessary to use the PDTC to repair and to attempt to eliminate it.

NOTE: The PDTC cannot be eliminated by using an M-MDS or disconnecting the battery terminal.

NOTE: DTC for Permanent DTC (PDTC) can be any emissions related DTC.
