Test 7: Cruise Control Indicator Always On

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect cruise control servo harness connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If cruise control indicator illuminates, go to next step. If cruise control indicator does not illuminate, replace cruise control servo and perform RETRIEVING FLASH CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect cruise control servo harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Orange/Light Blue wire) at cruise control servo harness connector. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See INSTRUMENT PANELS article under ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Orange/Light Blue wire between instrument cluster and cruise control servo. After repair, perform RETRIEVING FLASH CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
