The shift control is out of correct gear relationship	Shift control component(s). Internal transmission component(s).	Go To PINPOINT TEST B: THE SHIFT CONTROL IS OUT OF CORRECT GEAR RELATIONSHIP .
The selector lever indicator does not correspond to the gear	Selector lever indicator adjustment.	CHECK that the selector lever indicator adjustment is correct. REFER to SELECTOR LEVER INDICATOR ADJUSTMENT . ADJUST the selector lever indicator if necessary. TEST the system for normal operation. If the condition persists, Go To PINPOINT TEST B: THE SHIFT CONTROL IS OUT OF CORRECT GEAR RELATIONSHIP .
The control linkage is binding	Shift control component(s). Internal transmission component(s).	Go To PINPOINT TEST C: THE CONTROL LINKAGE IS BINDING .
The gearshift lever will not shift from range	Shift control component(s). Internal transmission component(s).	Go To PINPOINT TEST C: THE CONTROL LINKAGE IS BINDING .
The selector lever indicator does not illuminate	Instrument cluster.	REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND PANEL ILLUMINATION .
The transmission control switch (TCS) does not operate correctly	TCS not cycled during self test. Fuse. TCS. Circuit(s). Powertrain control module (PCM). Instrument cluster.	Go To PINPOINT TEST D: THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH (TCS) DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY TEST STEP .
Rattle, noise, buzz, or other noise	Gearshift lever. Steering column shrouds.	INSPECT the gearshift lever and shrouds for damage and incorrect installation. REPAIR as necessary. REFER to SELECTOR LEVER .
Water enters inside the vehicle	Shift cable rubber grommet.	SECURE the grommet to the bulkhead
Water enters inside the vehicle	Torn shift cable rubber grommet.	INSTALL a new shift cable and bracket. REFER to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE AND BRACKET .
