Test J: Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter Out Of Synchronization

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, right of steering column. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Perform Central Security Module (CSM) self-test. If DTC B2425 is not retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B2425 is retrieved, go to step  4.
  2. Press any button on defective remote transmitter 4 times consecutively. If remote transmitter still does not operate properly, go to next step. If remote transmitter operates properly, clear DTCs and repeat self-test.
  3. Using a known-good remote transmitter, check operation of system. If system operates normally, go to next step. If system does not operate normally, go to step  5.
  4. Press any button on operational remote transmitter, within 30 seconds of pressing a button on an operative remote transmitter, press any button on an inoperative transmitter. If inoperative remote transmitter does not operate normally, reprogram all remote transmitters. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. If inoperative remote transmitter operates normally, retest system for normal operation with inoperative remote transmitter.
  5. Reprogram all remote transmitters. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. If all remote transmitters operate normally, system is okay. If remote transmitters do not operate normally, go to step TEST F: DOORS DO NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK USING REMOTE TRANSMITTER .
