Blower Speed Controller

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1992 Lincoln Continental. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Blower speed controller is located in the evaporator case, upstream of evaporator core. The high-speed blower relay is located on upper half of evaporator case.

The controller converts low current signals from control panel to a high current, variable ground feed to the blower motor. Blower motor speed is controlled by control panel and blend door actuator position.

A delay function provides gradual increases or decreases in blower motor speeds. High-speed blower relay, integral with blower speed controller, gives maximum airflow in high blower position.

NOTE: DO NOT operate system with blower motor disconnected, or blower speed controller may be damaged.
