Removal [09/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL ENGINE TO ENGINE STAND 
    1. Install the engine assembly to an engine stand with the bolts.
  2. REMOVE ENGINE HANGER 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 No. 1 engine hangers.
  3. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Remove the engine wire from the engine assembly.
  4. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and front No. 1 engine mounting bracket LH.

  5. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and front No. 1 engine mounting bracket RH.

  6. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets.

      *A for LH Side
      *B for RH Side
  7. REMOVE TRANSMISSION BREATHER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [09/2014 - 03/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [03/2019 - ]

  8. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  9. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  10. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  11. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose from the water by-pass pipe sub-assembly.
    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the water by-pass hose from the water by-pass pipe sub-assembly.
    3. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 5 water by-pass hose from the water by-pass pipe sub-assembly.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts and water by-pass pipe sub-assembly from the intake air surge tank assembly.

  12. REMOVE PURGE VALVE (PURGE VSV) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  13. DISCONNECT VENTILATION HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  14. REMOVE FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Port Injection) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  16. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Port Injection) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  17. REMOVE NO. 1 DELIVERY PIPE SPACER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  18. REMOVE INJECTOR VIBRATION INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  19. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (for Port Injection) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19

  20. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27

  21. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  23. REMOVE NO. 3 COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  24. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  25. REMOVE NO. 3 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  26. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  27. REMOVE FUEL PUMP WITH SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  28. REMOVE FUEL PUMP WITH SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  29. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  30. REMOVE NO. 4 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  31. REMOVE CASE SEPARATOR 
    1. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and case separator from the cylinder head.

  32. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  33. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  34. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (for Direct Injection) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  35. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  36. REMOVE NO. 5 ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the 4 knock sensor connectors.

    2. Disengage the clamp.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 5 engine wire.
  37. REMOVE NO. 4 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the No. 4 engine cover sub-assembly.

  38. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and No. 2 idler pulley sub-assembly.

  39. REMOVE OIL PUMP DRIVE SHAFT PULLEY 
    1. Using SST, hold the oil pump drive shaft pulley.
      • SST: 09960-10010

    2. Remove the 4 bolts and oil pump drive shaft pulley.
  40. REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  41. REMOVE WATER INLET HOUSING 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the water inlet hose from the water inlet housing.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts, water inlet housing and gasket.

  42. REMOVE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  43. REMOVE ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  44. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  45. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Slide the 3 clips and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass pipe sub-assembly from the oil cooler and heat exchanger assembly.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts and No. 2 water by-pass pipe sub-assembly.
  46. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  47. REMOVE KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  48. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  49. REMOVE NO. 4 V-BANK COVER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut and No. 4 V-bank cover bracket sub-assembly.

  50. REMOVE NO. 3 V-BANK COVER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and No. 3 V-bank cover bracket sub-assembly.
