Installation [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL NOISE FILTER 
    1. for Bank 2:

      Install the noise filter to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    2. for Bank 1:

      Install the noise filter to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

  2. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the 8 ignition coil assemblies with the 8 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

  3. INSTALL NO. 11 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Install the No. 11 water by-pass hose to the No. 1 heat exchanger cover, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.

      HINT: 

      • When connecting the No. 11 water by-pass hose, make sure the paint marks and clamps are as shown in the illustration.
      • The direction of the hose clamp is indicated in the illustration.
  4. INSTALL ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Attach the 3 wire harness clamps to install the engine wire.
    2. Connect the 4 knock sensor connectors.
    3. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER 
  6. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE COVER 
  7. INSTALL SEPARATOR CASE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [08/2020 - ]

  9. INSTALL WATER PUMP PULLEY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  10. INSTALL NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  11. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  12. INSTALL NO. 4 ENGINE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  13. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  14. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  15. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH 
    1. Install the front No. 1 engine mounting bracket LH with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 35 N*m (357 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

  16. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH 
    1. Install the front No. 1 engine mounting bracket RH with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 35 N*m (357 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

  17. INSTALL EGR COOLER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  18. CONNECT NO. 11 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  19. INSTALL NO. 8 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Install the No. 8 water by-pass hose to the EGR cooler assembly and water inlet housing, and slide the 2 clamps to secure the hose.

      HINT: 

      • When connecting the No. 8 water by-pass hose, make sure the paint marks and clamps are as shown in the illustration.
      • The direction of each hose clamp is indicated in the illustration.
  20. INSTALL NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Install the No. 2 water by-pass pipe with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

    2. Connect the hose to the water inlet housing, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.

      HINT: 

      • When connecting the hose, make sure the paint marks and clamps are as shown in the illustration.
      • The direction of each hose clamp is indicated in the illustration.
  21. INSTALL NO. 3 AIR TUBE 
    1. Install the No. 3 air tube with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

  22. INSTALL NO. 4 AIR TUBE 
    1. Install the No. 4 air tube with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

  23. INSTALL NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [08/2020 - ]

  24. INSTALL NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [08/2020 - ]

  25. INSTALL AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2) 
    1. Install a new gasket and the air switching valve assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 24 N*m (245 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf)

      *1 No. 3 Air Tube
      *2 Gasket
      *3 Air Switching Valve Assembly
      *a Claw
      NOTE:

      Make sure the gasket's claws are not caught between the air switching valve assembly and No. 3 air tube.

    2. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Install the 2 wire harness clamp brackets with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

  26. INSTALL AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1) 
    1. Install a new gasket and the air switching valve assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 24 N*m (245 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf)

      *1 No. 4 Air Tube
      *2 Gasket
      *3 Air Switching Valve Assembly
      *a Claw
      NOTE:

      Make sure the gasket's claws are not caught between the air switching valve assembly and No. 4 air tube.

    2. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Install the 2 wire harness clamp brackets with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

  27. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the clamp and install the No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - ] ).
    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

  28. INSTALL FUEL HOSE 
    1. Attach the clamp and install the fuel hose (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - ] ).
  29. INSTALL ENGINE WIRE
