Front Differential Carrier Assembly: Removal

  1. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  2. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL  (See REPLACEMENT  )
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the engine assembly (see REMOVAL ).
  4. REMOVE ENGINE ON TO ENGINE STAND  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Support the rear differential carrier with a jack.
      CAUTION: As the differential carrier assembly is very heavy, securely support it with the jack.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and differential carrier.
      NOTE:
      • Do not damage the installation surface when removing the differential carrier.
      • The remaining oil may leak out when removing the differential carrier.
