Cooling System (Mechanical): Cooling: Radiator: Removal

  1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See REMOVAL )
  2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  8. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  9. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID  (See REMOVAL )
  10. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT  (See COOLANT )
  11. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR  (See REMOVAL )
  12. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  13. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  14. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  15. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)  (See REMOVAL )
  16. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  17. REMOVE HOOD LOCK NUT CAP  (See REMOVAL )
  18. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  19. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect 2 reserve tank hoses, then remove the 2 bolts and radiator reserve tank assembly.

  20. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU OUTLET DUCT 
    1. Remove the engine room ECU outlet duct from the engine room ECU box

  21. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT 
    1. Disconnect the smog ventilation sensor connector.

    2. Disconnect the 2 horn connectors

    3. Separate the 5 clamps and the wire harness from the upper radiator support.

    4. Separate the 2 clamps and the wire harness from the upper radiator support.

    5. Separate the 3 clamps and the wire harness from the fan shroud.

    6. Disconnect the 2 cooling fan ECU connectors

    7. Remove the 5 bolts and the upper radiator support

  22. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the No 1 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.

  23. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.

  24. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the 2 oil cooler hoses from the radiator assembly
    2. Disconnect the 2 bolts and oil cooler pipe from the radiator assembly.

  25. SEPARATE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and separate the cooler condenser assembly from the radiator assembly

  26. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the radiator assembly from the vehicle together with the cooling fan assembly
      NOTE: Make sure that the cooler condenser assembly and radiator assembly do not come into contact with each other.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts.
    3. Release the claw and lift the fan assembly from the radiator assembly.

  27. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT CUSHION 
    1. Remove the 2 radiator support cushions.

  28. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR SUPPORT 
    1. Remove the 2 lower radiator supports.
