Front Bumper: Disassembly

  1. REMOVE FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  2. REMOVE FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System)  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE HEADLIGHT CLEANER WASHER NOZZLE LH (w/ Headlight Cleaner System)  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE HEADLIGHT CLEANER WASHER NOZZLE RH (w/ Headlight Cleaner System) 

    HINT.

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  6. REMOVE HEADLIGHT WASHER ACTUATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Headlight Cleaner System)  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE HEADLIGHT WASHER ACTUATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Headlight Cleaner System) 

    HINT

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side

  8. REMOVE NO. 4 ENGINE ROOM WIRE (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 
    1. Disengage the 13 clamps and remove the No. 4 engine room wire

  9. REMOVE HEADLIGHT HOSE (w/ Headlight Cleaner System) 
    1. Disengage the 7 clamps and remove the headlight hose.

  10. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR 
    1. Disengage the 15 claws and remove the radiator grille protector

  11. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips
    2. Disengage the 15 claws and 2 guides, and remove the radiator grille assembly.

  12. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips
    2. Disengage the 6 claws and remove the radiator grille

  13. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE EMBLEM (w/o Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System) 

    HINT

    When removing the emblem, heat the radiator grille and emblem using a heat light.

    Heating Temperature 

    HEATING TEMPERATURE SPECIFICATION

    Item Temperature
    Radiator Grille 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Emblem 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    NOTE: Do not heat the radiator grille and emblem excessively.
    1. Put protective tape around the radiator grille emblem
    2. Insert a piano wire between the radiator grille and radiator grille emblem.
    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends
    4. Pull the piano wire and cut through the double-sided tape that holds the emblem to the radiator grille.
      NOTE:
      • If reusing the radiator grille emblem, take care not to damage the radiator grille emblem.
      • Be careful not to damage the radiator grille.
    5. Remove the radiator grille emblem

  14. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE EMBLEM (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System) 
    1. Remove the 2 spring nuts.
    2. Disengage the claw and remove the radiator grille emblem

  15. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR GRILLE 
    1. Disengage the 14 claws and remove the lower radiator grille.

  16. REMOVE FOG LIGHT COVER LH 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the front fog light cover LH

  17. REMOVE FOG LIGHT COVER RH 

    HINT.

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  18. REMOVE LOWER FRONT BUMPER COVER 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the lower front bumper cover

  19. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RETAINER 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the 2 front fender liner retainers

      HINT

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  20. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front bumper side retainer LH.

  21. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  22. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 
    1. Remove the front bumper energy absorber.

  23. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips and disconnect the radiator support opening cover.
    2. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the cooler (ambient temp sensor) thermistor.
    3. Remove the 6 bolts and front bumper reinforcement.
