Cooling System (Mechanical): Cooling: Fan: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (See  COOLANT   ) 
  4. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Squeeze the clip and remove the reserve tank inlet hose from the radiator assembly.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and reserve tank.
  6. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  8. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE (See  REMOVAL   ) 
  9. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU OUTLET DUCT 
    1. Remove the outlet duct.

  10. REMOVE FAN SHROUD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 3 clamps and wire harness from the fan shroud.
    2. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    3. Remove the 6 bolts and fan shroud.

  11. REMOVE COOLING FAN ECU 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    2. Remove the 2 screws and ECU.

  12. REMOVE FAN 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and fan.
  13. REMOVE COOLING FAN MOTOR 
    1. Disconnect the 2 wires from the fan shroud.

    2. Remove the 3 screws and fan motor.
  14. REMOVE NO. 2 COOLING FAN MOTOR 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and fan motor.
